Creative Souls Counseling

For the high-achieving woman who's exhausted by her own standards — and secretly longs to feel creative, free, and like herself again.

There's a version of you that isn't tired all the time.

She's not more disciplined or more productive. She's actually the opposite — she knows how to stop. She creates things just because they feel good. She trusts herself. She rests without earning it first.

You haven't lost her. She's just been waiting for permission.

I'm Ashley — a Board-Certified Art Therapist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Tallahassee, Florida. I work with high-achieving women who are ready to stop white-knuckling through their lives and start reconnecting with who they actually are — through creative expression, somatic awareness, and learning to work with your body's natural rhythm instead of against it.

No art experience needed. No productivity required. Just you, as you are.

creative spark,

A loud inner critic
That persistent internal voice that tells you you're only as good as your productivity — leaving you feeling like a failure even when you succeed.

Perfectionism and creative blocks
Holding yourself to impossible standards, making it feel unbearable to just create, rest, or be without guilt creeping in.

Persistent burnout
Being the strong one for everyone else while leaving your own physical and emotional needs completely untended.

Internalized shame
Feeling like an imposter in your own life. Never quite feeling good enough, no matter how much you accomplish.

Many of the women I work with find themselves feeling exhausted by:

Why talk therapy sometimes isn't enough

You are already very good at articulating how you feel.

You can describe your anxiety in precise detail. You can explain exactly why you can't slow down. You've probably read the books, listened to the podcasts, and intellectually understand that you need to rest.

And yet — here you are.

That's because true healing doesn't happen only in the thinking mind. It happens when we move past the intellect and connect with the deeper, somatic parts of who you are. In my practice, we gently blend talk therapy with two powerful tools:

Art Therapy

This isn't about being a skilled artist or creating something beautiful. We use simple, expressive directives to give your thoughts a physical place to go — quieting the overthinking mind and letting something deeper come through. Art therapy allows us to explore old patterns, heal internalized shame, and access your intuition in a way that words alone sometimes can't reach.

Cycle Awareness

We live in a world that expects us to operate at a fixed, high capacity every single day. But your body is naturally cyclical — and when you try to push through an exhausting luteal or draining menstrual phase with the same energy you had a week prior, your nervous system crashes.

Together, we look at how your energy, emotions, and creativity naturally shift throughout the month. By aligning your therapeutic work with your biological rhythm, you can stop fighting your own body and start using your cycle as a guide for self-care and self-trust.

What becomes possible

This work is a gentle, collaborative partnership designed to help you live more authentically from your own core. Together we move toward:

Nervous system regulation
Learning to listen to your body's signals — knowing when it's time to create and express, and when it's time for protective, restorative rest.

Compassionate boundaries
Softening the harsh expectations of perfectionism and learning to say a grounded yes to your own needs.

Reclaiming your identity
Reconnecting with your innate intuition, your creative self, and the parts of you that got buried under everyone else's expectations.

Sustainable calm
Not the kind you have to perform or maintain perfectly — the kind that lives in your body and comes with you into real life.

Ready to find your way back?

You don't have to have it all figured out before you reach out. You just have to be a little curious about what life might feel like if you weren't so exhausted by it.

The first step is a free 15-minute consultation — a gentle conversation to see if we're a good fit. No pressure, no commitment. Just a chance to be heard.

I work with women in Tallahassee, Florida and virtually throughout the state.

A little more about Ashley

I'm a Board-Certified Art Therapist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 11 years of experience helping women reconnect with their authentic selves.

I built this practice because I believe that the women who are holding everything together for everyone else deserve a space that's entirely their own — one where nothing needs to be productive, perfect, or performed.

My approach blends the science of nervous system regulation, the wisdom of cycle awareness, and the transformative power of creative expression. But more than any modality, what I bring to this work is a deep belief that you are not too much, not too broken, and not too late.

Finding the right therapeutic fit matters. If something here feels like it was written for you — it probably was.
